How To Pick A CPU

First of all you need to ask yourself what you plan to use the PC for and how much performance you need from it. Then you need to do research and find the best processor for your budget. Ideally, you'd want a Ryzen 5/Core i5 for gaming and light workstation, Ryzen 7/Core i7 for workstations or productivity rigs, and a Ryzen 9/Core i9 for the fastest workstations.

How To Pick A GPU

Once again, you need to ask yourself how much performance you need and what you'll use your GPU for. Then you need to spec out parts and do research, before making a decision. I'd recommend an RX 6700 XT for gamers running a 1080p monitor, but do your own research or just contact me via email.

How To Pick A Motherboard

First, you need to find what socket your PC requires. Then you need to decide what features you need (ex. WiFi, 10gbps LAN, extra OC headroom, RAM slots, etc.). After that, pick what chipset makes the most sense for your needs and start looking around for the best board for you.

How To Pick A Power Supply

This one's pretty simple. Just see how much wattage you need for all your components, and then buy something slightly over that. Unless you want to futureproof, in which case you may want to overshoot your needs as we all march towards the industry goal of making GPUs that double as space heaters.

How To Pick A Storage Device

You will need to decide 4 things: what type of storage device you need, how much capacity you need, how much speed you need, and your budget. For new gaming rigs, I recommend at least a 1TB NVMe SSD, or a 256GB NVMe SSD for Windows and a separate 2TB SATA SSD for games.

How To Pick RAM

You simply need to find out these 4 things: what type of memory module does your motherboard support (ex. DDR3, DDR4 DDR5), what is your budget, what speed & latency you can run at (ex. DDR4 3200 CL16), and how much capacity you need (ex. 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB). For new gaming PCs, I recommend 32GB of DDR5-4800/5200/5600.
